Ways to Give To WilsonAnnual Fund FirstThe Wilson Annual Fund bridges the 10% tuition gap in educating each child. In the 2010-2011 school year, our Annual Fund goal is $177,650. To reach our goal each year, we count on the generous support of parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, alumni and special friends. Please consider a gift this year to The Wilson School's Annual Fund. We accept gifts by check made payable to the school, credit card, and gifts of stock. Each gift is 100% tax-deductible and truly makes a difference in continuing the excellence Wilson has provided Saint Louis-area students for 98 years. Excellence Program"Our favorite word is 'excellence'…" said Hal & Catherine Faught, grandparents of two Wilson alums and the founders of The Wilson School's Excellence Program. In the fall of 2006, Hal & Catherine established the Excellence Program, a dollar-for-dollar matching fund that supports professional development for our faculty, additions to our library, and innovative programming for our students - including an exclusive writing partnership with Washington University. Through the generosity of the Faughts, Wilson parents, grandparents, alums, and friends, the Excellence Program sets The Wilson School apart from all other independent elementary schools in Saint Louis. Wilson Thistle AuctionWilson's Thistle Auction is the largest special fundraising event for the school. As with the Annual Fund, our Auction proceeds not only also help to bridge the gap but support programs and enhancements that would otherwise not be possible. Scholarship FundOur scholarship fund provides assistance for students to attend The Wilson School that would not otherwise be able to afford full tuition. If you have a heart for scholarship and would like to help provide an excellent Wilson education, please designate your gift for the scholarship fund. All gifts received will benefit students in the upcoming school year. Please notify the development office of your gift intentions so that stock transfers will be attributed to the correct donor and to the correct fund. When attributing gifts to more than one campaign at Wilson, the stock may be transferred together in one transaction. Matching gifts are a vital source of funds for educational institutions. They also are an increasingly important way for companies to allow their employees to direct a portion of the monies earmarked for charitable contributions. Check with your employer to see if they are a matching gift company and your gift instantly doubles! Tax Exempt Status - The Wilson School is a tax-exempt institution under Section 501(c)(3) of Internal Revenue Code. We are organized and operate exclusively for educational purposes.
