Extended Day"Mom, I want to stay for Extended Day!"This is a common sentiment among Wilson students. The Extended Day Program is available for families needing after school care for their children from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Children are nurtured in a supervised setting and are offered free play, games, arts and crafts, field trips, study hall, and snacks. Different contract options exist to meet the needs of various family schedules, as well as "drop-in" care. Also, the Extended Day Program offers childcare for those days when school is not in session: faculty professional development days, various holidays and during winter and spring vacation breaks. For more information, contact Miguel Figueras, Extended Day Director, at 725.4999, ext. 23 or email Mr. Figueras at mfigueras@wilsonschool.com. WASA (Wilson After School Activities)The Wilson After School Activities Program (WASA) is designed and offered to students at age-appropriate levels. The program offers a nice mixture of athletic, fine and performing arts, technology, and language arts classes. Attention is given to make certain that courses are offered to students in all grade levels. WASA courses are taught by Wilson faculty members and outside instructors. Recent courses have been: Chess, Young Rembrandts, Chinese, Yoga, Girls on the Run, Fencing, Floor Hockey, Beginning Guitar, and Read/Write/Run. Reduced rates are available for students enrolled in our Extended Day Program.
